Hanging With Ben Templesmith

I caught up with legendary comic book artist artist Ben Templesmith (who is reading this right now because his Google Alert picked it up…) for a cigar last night. Ben is the depraved artist behind
the tormented visual delights of books such as 30 Days Of Night (which was turned into a hella scary film), Fell (authored by the equally depraved genius Warren Ellis), Wormwood (which Ben authored as well as drew)
and the brand-new and eagerly-awaited Squidgirls) last night.

Ben – originally from Perth but who lives in Seattle these days – is in Brisbane for Supanova, the “pop culture expo”.
Although he normally smokes Cubans, he was kind enough to try a Perdomo Patriarch Maduro. He later said nice things about it on Twitter here and here. Great to see more artists enjoying Perdomo!

If you’re into weird and scary tales – with brilliant art – check Ben’s stuff out.
